50th Anniversary of the Vulcan flown cover signed by three RAF Vulcan Squadron Commanders from the 1950s:
- Air Vice-Marshal D Bower CBE AFC (OC 617 Squadron 1958-60)
- Air Commodore A C L Mackie CBE DFC* (OC 101 Squadron 1957-59)
- Wing Commander L F Banks DFC AFC (OC 83 Squadron 1958-60)
The front of the cover features a 50th Anniversary of the Vulcan BFPO cancellation dated 30 August 2002.
Cover measures 210 x 120mm. Artwork shows the first Vulcan prototype VX770 and Vulcan XM607 taking-off from Ascension at the start of one of the 'Black Buck' missions in May 1982. Cover comes with an illustrated insert telling the story of the Avro Vulcan.
Flown in VC-10 K4 ZD230 of 101 Squadron from RAF Brize Norton to RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands. Rear of the cover features a 101 Squadron hand stamp dated 30 April 2002.
